Focus areas

Water in the coastal belt

Safe drinking water in salinity-affected areas, with a focus on rainwater harvesting in the southwest coast.

Disaster risk and preparedness

How people understand and prepare for hazards such as waterlogging, earthquakes, fire and building collapse.

Pollution and public health

Plastic and microplastic pollution, air and noise pollution, and the gaps in regulation around them.

Field study: rainwater harvesting in Satkhira

On 3 and 4 June 2025, one of our team members joined a field team in Satkhira studying the challenges and techniques of rainwater harvesting. The team visited households, ran Key Informant Interviews and Focus Group Discussions, and collected rainwater samples for laboratory testing.
